This site is a Certificated Location and is open to Caravan Club Members only. New Toilet Block and Tourist Information area completed during winter 2006/7. Hard Standing and Main entrance now have hard core laid during Spring 2008. The Certificated Location is now open all year round. Prior booking essential. We have a choice of any five pitches from eight all with electric hookup included. Caravan Club Members on showing their membership card when visiting the Tramway Museum get buy one get one free admission. Site Details
This delightful site is situated adjacent to the Crich Tramway Village with panoramic views of the Derbyshire Countryside both from the C.L. and also from the famed Derbyshire viewpoint of Crich Stand which is 1000 ft above sea level. Crich Stand is an inland lighthouse which is a Memorial to the soldiers killed in the wars. From this vantage point you can see eight counties, and on a clear day the Humber Bridge and Lincoln Cathedral are visible The grounds of Crich Stand also houses the Beacon which is lit on special occasions and is reputed to have first been lit to warn of the Spanish Armada. The village of Crich was the setting for the T.V. Drama "Peak Practice". And for those who are interested the owner can point out some of the locations that were used. There are Shops, Tea Room and Pubs all within 200 - 300 yards of the site. Toilets and Tourist information on site, with many local attractions including, The Crich Tramway Museum which now offers a buy one get one free offer on production of Caravan Club Membership Card, The Tramway Museum is adjacent to the C.L. Matlock, Matlock Bath and the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham also the great house off Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and National Trust properties off Hardwick Hall, Kedleston Hall, Caulke Abbey and Sudbury Hall all less than 1 hours drive. Other attractions include Alton Towers, Carsington Water, Ogstan Water, Cromford Canal and the High Peak Trail for walking and cycling together with the Peak District including the towns of Bakewell (Market Day Monday), Ashbourne, and Buxton with Castleton and the Derwent Dams highly recommended, not forgetting the local towns of Alfreton, Ripley and Belper. What is Special About this Site
Adjacent to the Crich Tramway Village with regular bus services outside the site to the towns of Matlock, Belper, Ripley and Alfreton which is especially useful for Motorhomes. Magnificent views from the site of Crich Stand and views over the open countryside. There are four pubs in the village, most of them serving traditional English fayre. With a delightful Tea Room across the road from the C.L. which is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday selling tea, coffee, breakfasts, lunches and light snacks. Special Themed nights as advertised at the Tea Rooms.
